No. The AI model runs entirely in your browser using ONNX Runtime Web and WebAssembly. Your image never leaves your device.
What image formats are supported?
PNG, JPG and WebP. The result is always a PNG with a transparent background (alpha channel).
Why does it take a while the first time?
The AI model (~170 MB) needs to be downloaded to your browser cache once. After that, background removal takes only a few seconds per image.
Is the quality comparable to remove.bg or Clipdrop?
For product photos, logos, and subjects with clear edges it performs comparably. For complex cases like flyaway hair, paid services with dedicated GPU processing may have an edge.
