Does my image get uploaded to a server?

No. The AI model runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your image never leaves your device.

What is the difference between 2× and 4× upscaling?

2× doubles each dimension — a 500×500px image becomes 1000×1000px. 4× quadruples it to 2000×2000px. Use 4× for small originals that need a large output, like logos or old photos.

Why does it take a while the first time?

The AI model needs to download to your browser cache once. After that it's instant. Fast mode (~8 MB) loads in about 2 seconds; Quality mode (~39 MB) takes around 10 seconds on a typical connection.

What image formats are supported?

PNG, JPG and WebP. The result is always downloaded as a PNG.
